Not resting upon their laurels, the ladies greeted today as an opportunity to really express themselves as we took the road to Miramas and the MacArthur Glen Provence outlet shopping precinct. All the labels that you can think of collected in a modern, street-level, courtyard styled shopping village … just what the therapist ordered.
Thankfully, the Proace van comes equipped with plentiful luggage space, which meant that there was room for everyone’s shopping bags, large and small, with pride of place going to a stylish new suitcase as preparations were made for the trip back to Australia.
Whilst the transaction cards were dissipating the excess heat, we travelled the short distance to the seaside village of St Charmas for lunch, where we discovered that our chosen restaurant was closed for the day. Our plight was quickly resolved, however, with the discovery of another delightful little restaurant not far away, where the service was friendly and the food delicious.
Satisfied with our lunch and our purchases, we settled in for the hour’s drive home, where it was time to relax by the pool and indulge in a little bit of group ‘shop and tell’.
As we have come to expect, Joelle again prepared us a delicious evening meal, tonight being a traditional Provençal vegetable soup followed by lamb steaks cooked with garlic and a potato mash, and finishing off with a chocolate cake combined with orange and grapefruit. And then off to bed to rest up for an early start tomorrow.
